LONDON BOOK FESTIVAL NAMES 2017 Winners

Headline Books Wins 8 Awards

LONDON–The London Book Festival announces 2017 awards for the best in International Publishing. Included are eight Headline Books new releases among those to be honored this year.

The Promise of Cedar Key by Rick Robinson wins top honors for best genre-based book. Set in Florida, this multi award-winning book is a coming of age novel for people still waiting to do so. Popular for his political thriller series, Rick Robinson departs from thrillers to pen this second drama about the struggles of coming to terms with the state of one’s life.

Runner Up honors go to Vulture Bend by international award-winning author, Don Stansberry, for his new novel about a serial killer who leaves no clues behind. Full of mystery, intrigue, and romance, Vulture Bend is a great addition to book shelves across the country.

New release, Africa Risk Dashboard: Mitigation Architecture for Investors From Lessons Learned the Hard Way by Issa Baluch and Jon Vandenheuvel takes Runner Up honors for Best Business Book. Former US Congressman J.C. Watts Jr. writes in his Foreword, “As a team, Jon and Issa are tackling issues related to investments in agribusiness, infrastructure, and finance, and the role of public policy to advance private sector development and entrepreneurship in Africa.”

The story of a woman who gets some angelic help in completing a life plan is the grand prize winner of the 2017 London Book Festival. Author Julia Wilmot’s “Where Is Emma Butler’s Life Plan?” tells of Emma Butler, who is about to be “recalled” to heaven, but hasn’t completed the tasks she designated for this life. She must complete them before the appointed hour, but time is running out. That’s when Arch Angel Gregory decides to take over.

Winners of the competition will be honored at an awards reception in London on January 20.
