Don Stansberry

Spiritual and Educational — Don Stansberry is a multi-talented, versatile, award-winning author and speaker.

Don Stansberry is a former educator with over 40 years of experience in the public schools. His degrees include a BS in Business Administration, a BA in Elementary Education, and an MA in Communication Studies. He has taught every grade level of elementary schools and has 20-plus years of coaching junior high and high school basketball.

He is the author of twelve books, ranging from picture books to young adult and mainstream novels. The books have won literary awards in New York, London, Paris, Hollywood, and New England.

Each of his presentations is hands-on and uses these books for the following:

Crusty

He will show steps in the production of a picture book.

  • Don will accentuate how illustrations can enhance or slow the flow of a story.

Each presentation is tailored to meet the client’s specific needs. Besides being hands-on and enjoyable, the students will learn how to become better at mapping out stories, enabling them to become better writers.

About the Speaker

Don Stansberry

Zoom Into Books Author

International Award-winning author Don Stansberry is a native West Virginian and retired elementary school teacher. He is the author of Isle of Shadows: The Inky Trilogy and his children’s books, which he also illustrated. Koko & Stoney Mom’s Choice Award and Crusty, named a Finalist in the USA News Best Book Awards. Don is the author of Secret Blood, a multi-award-winning book that took top honors for best spiritual fiction at the London Book Festival. It was named a Winner at the Next Generation Indie Book Awards at a reception at The Plaza in New York City during Book Expo America. His second novel, Vulture Bend, is a riveting good vs. evil award-winning story. Cryptic Blood, sequel to Secret Blood is his most recent novel. He was the head coach for the Parkersburg High Girls’ Basketball team for 16 years and retired from this position with four state championships.

Don is also a Headline Books Collaboration Author and works with students to complete the writing and illustrations of a fundraising book for their schools as part of the Headline Kids School Show Program. He guides them from topic to completed book, which is published by Headline Books.
