Terra Alta WV – Across the continents, espionage, political intrigue, and conspiracies are non-stop in Attacking the Dragon by award-winning author A. Marc Ross. Published by Headline Books, 2024 Independent Publisher of the Year, Ross is a new author to Headline Books.
An unknown group is carrying out terrorist attacks to undermine the Chinese Communist Party and China’s global expansion. Wes Robertson, an American businessman who is injured in one of the attacks, becomes caught up in the hunt for the terrorists as does Maria Braga, the American Ambassador to an African country where people died from another.
As Wes and Maria hunt the perpetrators in China and the United States, they become romantically involved. Meanwhile, Chinese officials suspect Wes may be involved with the terrorists, and the terrorists seek to stop Wes, killing him if need be.
Attacking the Dragon is a second novel for Ross. The Conscripted Extremist, a 2024 Next Generation Indie Book Award finalist, is the author’s first novel and was featured in San Diego at the 2024 American Library Association National Conference in the Headline Books booth.
He is a Zoom Into Books author and his interviews can be seen on the Zoom Into Books YouTube Channel,” said Cathy Teets, Headline Books President and founder of Zoom Into Books.
Award-winning author A. Marc Ross was a featured author at the 2025 American Library Association (ALA) National Conference in Philadelphia in June in the Headline Books booth. Attacking the Dragon is Runner Up for Best Fiction at the Beach Book Festival and received Honorable Mentions at the Hollywood and San Francisco Book Festivals.
Ross is a corporate lawyer who always meant to write novels, but took a long time to get around to it.
