About the Author
After a 36-year career as a high-risk labor and delivery nurse and two decades as a travel nurse, Janet Shawgo retired and lives on Galveston Island. Her travel nurse assignments across the United States allowed her to visit historical sites, such as Gettysburg, and spend time walking the battlefields. As a former Sergeant in a multi-city crime unit investigating homicides, the author has a passion for writing mystery-thriller novels centered on murder. She began writing in 2009 while working as a full-time travel nurse and has since published 7 full novels, two novellas, and a book of short stories. Janet has been published in three anthologies and a book of poetry. Her works have won multiple awards, including top honors for her historical fiction series about nurses who traveled during wartime. She has spoken to quilting guilds, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and the Daughters of the American Revolution across Texas. She is an active member of the Galveston Chamber of Commerce. She lives alone except for her constant companion, a six-year-old Yorkie named Emi.
