Award-winning author Alicia Stephens Martin has six novels published, with several more in progress. Her work is inspired by her deep passions for family, writing, horses, and hair.

Over the course of 40 years, Alicia built a distinguished career in cosmetology, working as a stylist, salon owner, and teacher. She dedicated herself to mastering her craft. Despite the devastating loss of her husband at the age of 46, Alicia persevered, returning to college while raising her child as a solo mom. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing and Women’s Fiction.

Alicia’s writing extends beyond novels, with her short fiction and non-fiction pieces published in trade publications and equine magazines. Her acclaimed Spurred trilogy is a mystery series that follows a family united by their shared love of horses as they confront both their past and their future.

In addition to the trilogy, Alicia authored The Silver Cowgirls and The Silver Cowgirls Ride Again, books designed to inspire readers to pursue their dreams regardless of age or background. The first in this series has earned a five-star review from Feathered Quill, received a Winnie and a Silver Bookfest Award, and was featured in Times Square.
