Michael “Wes” Loder has hiked, climbed and caved his way across the United States, helped raise three children, been an Air Force officer, photographer, audio-visual technician, park naturalist—and an academic librarian for over 30 years. He has worked in eight different states—including in Ganado, Arizona, where he lived for two years. Today he lives in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania next to the family farm he grew up on. His home is a passive-solar, off-grid house he and his wife designed and helped build themselves. Wes started writing when he was seventeen. He is the author of a wide range of books from a history of Nikon cameras to novels for young adult readers. Today he writes from home, plays the highland bagpipe and occasionally weaves rugs. Can Skinwalkers Swim? is his first novel set in the modern-day Diné Nation.
