 Friday, June 18:

Pride Day

  • 12:30pm: WV State Delegate Cody Thompson reads And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell
  • 1:00pm: Film screening of Mulan in children’s area
  • 5:30 pm: After hours screening of Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street

June 19:

Juneteenth

  • 11:00 am: WV State Delegate Danielle Walker reads All Different Now: Juneteenth, the First Day of Freedomby Angela Johnson
  • 1:00 – 3:00 pm: Cookout/potluck at the Elkins City Park small pavilion
  • 5:00 pm: History lecture at library by Dr. Cicero Fain “Celebrating Black Appalachia and Appalachians”
  • 6:00 pm: After hours screening of Hidden Figures
