Los Angeles–The Southern California Book Festival announced awards today.
The judging panels considers general excellence and the author’s passion for telling a good story and the potential for the work to reach a larger audience. Award reception for all recipients will be later this month in Los Angeles.
Headline awards include:
From Aardvarks to Zyzzyvas by David Ritchey named as Winner for Best How-To book.
Honorable Mentions for Best Fiction go to The Advance Man by Rick Robinson, Cauliflower Heart by Diana Hart, Devil’s Backbone by Karl Stewart, and Hunter’s Moon by Jay Heavner.
From Udenamo to Frelimo and Mozambican Diplomacy by Lopes Tembe Ndelana awarded Honorable Mention for Best Biography/Autobiography
Locked & Loaded: the Battle Over U.S. Gun Control by David Ritchey Honorable Mention for Best Non-Fiction
Venus Rising: A Concise History of the Second Planet by Dr. Raymond Keller wins Honorable Mention in the Wild Card Category.
Best Children’s Book Honorable Mentions to Spaghetti & Meatballs: Growing Up Italian by Diana Pishner Walker, illustrated by Ashley Teets and Baxter’s Busy Day by Donna Roberts, illustrated by Ashley Teets.
