The story of Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. is more than a rags-to-riches story of some singer who won a reality show-it’s a story of faith, hope, destiny, and dreams. To many people, Landau is the young man with dreadlocks who sings like Sinatra, but the story to be told is that of someone who is a hardworking man of enduring faith. When you’re finished reading this book, you’ll discover, along with having a great voice, Landau is a world-class human being.

Perfection intersection where life meets destiny

At the moment he began to sing at the audition for America’s Got Talent, he was destined for Superstardom. Landau Murphy is more than the rags to riches, or from car washer to celebrated winner of 2011 America’s got Talent. The book written by Rick Robinson is not nuanced with the author’s inking. Landau’s voice and tone and feelings and sentiments are shared with rich and truthful authenticity.
In the devastation of loss and desperation after all his earthly belongings were stolen, he found his way to NYC for the AGT auditions on sheer conviction that his destiny must be fulfilled. Whether he believed that he had the talent to win, or that he would even make it to the first rounds of auditions, he took a giant leap of faith.
The book captures the simplicity, and the raw story of a person, sidelined and sidetrack by family challenges, obscured in the muddle of life’s roadblocks and human complications, but was seated in his passion to overcome the odds.
It took me 1 day to read the book. I was even more enthralled by the inner soul of Landau. Not only is he a credible and talented entertainer, he personifies all the gifts of character, humility and generous loyalty. Rick Robinson gave us an exemplary record of the Landau Eugene Murphy Jr who not only won AGT, but won our hearts through the echoes of Frank Sinatra’s MY Way..and Landau did it his Way.
